Diana’s belongings were returned by Fayed looking like a ‘jumble sale’, says her former butler Paul Burrell

PRINCESS Diana’s belongings were returned by Mohamed Fayed looking like a “jumble sale”, her former butler says.

The romance between Diana and Fayed’s son Dodi ended in tragedy when they died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.

Fayed spent years peddling damaging conspiracy theories about the Royal Family’s alleged involvement in the car crash.

Diana’s ex-butler Paul Burrell said: “He wanted to be accepted by the British aristocracy and he knew that dream was over.

“I was appalled by the way he behaved after the princess’s death.

"I went to the Paris Ritz to retrieve Diana’s belongings.

“Fayed made me sit for two hours in the lobby then refused to see me as he was too busy.

“The day after, her suitcase arrived at Kensington Palace with all her belongings in it and someone had literally just shoved everything into a case.

“It looked like a jumble sale.

"It just showed that she was no longer of any value to him.”
