Two guest villas are on the blueprints, plus plans to add two more and the complex will also be decked out with three children's rooms.

North Island is the only single-residence island to exist in the wider Maldives.

A spokesperson said: "The villa complex will be crafted from sustainable, ethically sourced materials, using fast-growing, ultra-sustainable and durable bamboo or plantation-grown wood.

"Whether that’s transforming driftwood into sculptures and statement lighting, using reclaimed telegraph poles for construction, or turning waste metals and glass into eye-catching design details.

"It is paradise personified and without question, the most exclusive and exciting piece of real estate we have had the privilege to market.
