Thanks to supercar Tesla's massive solar power farm, it is storing the sun's energy to power its inhabitants during the night.
Kauai has an abundance of sunlight.
But traditionally solar power only works when the sun is shining.
Tesla have released an incredible view of the picturesque island, powered by 13 megawatts of solar from 54,978 solar panels.

It uses 272 power packs to turn the sun's energy into batteries.
Which saves around 16 million gallons of fossil fuel in a year.
Tesla, which sells electric cars, is owned by billionaire Elon Musk.
Musk is paving the way for engineering and space travel, with several seemingly impossible projects on his horizon.
He has proposed to get humans on Mars by 2030, with the help of his space exploration company Space X.
His 500mph Hyperloop supertrain is also taking shape.
The train, which could transport passengers from London to Edinburgh in half an hour, is being tested in the Nevada desert.
