TERRIFIED EasyJet passengers looked on in horror after a man tried to storm the cockpit at 30,000ft.
Pilots declared a Mayday and ordered an emergency landing after the sozzled flyer wrestled with cabin crew – and tried to open a door mid-flight.
Pandemonium broke out on board Flight EZY8235 which left Gatwick Airport for Kos in Greece on Tuesday.
Families gripped their seats as the drunk traveller broke the in-flight intercom and was restrained by airline staff.
The man was wrestled to the floor by crew and other holidaymakers, who were given a round of applause.
After the jet flew through turbulence, the passenger told scared holidaymakers that the captain was “rubbish” and he was taking over the controls.

The 4am service diverted to Munich at 6.50am after the alarming security breach.
After the flightdeck team raised the alarm, police and emergency services lined the runway in Germany to greet the Airbus A320.
Officers raced aboard on touchdown and bundled the problem passenger – wearing a black t-shirt, blue jean shorts and white trainers – off the plane.
A photograph obtained by The Sun showed the black-haired thug handcuffed and lying at the foot of the aircraft steps on the tarmac as he was formally arrested and led away.

Upset passengers told of their anger as the yob was knocking back whiskey before and during the early morning flight.
A woman initially believed to be his girlfriend apologised to people seated nearby that he’d had “one too many” – but later made out she had nothing to do with him.

Dozens of passengers stayed Tuesday night in a local Marriott Hotel and were left waiting to hear about a connecting flight to Greece on Wednesday.
A source said: “It was a harrowing and upsetting ordeal. Everyone feared the worst when the man tried to storm the cockpit.
“It’s every flyer’s worst nightmare and this was a holiday flight full of young families.
“The man was so drunk and there was rising anger at how he was allowed to board the plane so clearly sozzled, let alone continue drinking.
“He was seen necking what looked like whiskey from a glass bottle on the plane. How was this allowed to happen?”
EasyJet said: “While such incidents are rare, we do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour.”
