At his sentencing earlier this year a judge slammed the sick pictures as “evil”.

His Honour Judge Simon Mills insisted: “The people that create these images are . . . evil and the reason they create these images is so they can be shared.”

The recipients included shamed Edwards, 63.

He has admitted accessing 41 illegal pics and videos of underage boys as young as seven shared by Williams, 25, between December 2020 and August 2021 after the pair met via social media.

No child abuse images were found on his phone.

A transcript of Williams’ sentencing hearing obtained by The Sun through the court, reveals he sent pics to five unnamed people.

Evidence from his phone including WhatsApp images featuring blue ticks, denoting they had been accessed by the receiver, was used to prosecute Edwards.

Williams, a manager, of Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, admitted possessing and distributing child sex images and having 58 prohibited computer-generated images of children.

In March, at the town’s crown court, he got 12 months in jail, suspended.

The case came to light after Edwards was in court on July 31.

He is due to be sentenced next month.

Edwards’ guilty plea came after The Sun revealed in July last year the newsreader, who was not named by us at the time, had paid a teen for sexual pictures.

He was suspended by the BBC, which wants him to return more than £200,000 earned following his arrest.
