Rod Stewart slammed by daughter of aid worker David Haines murdered by Jihadi John over ‘mock Isis execution’ video – but rocker claims he was ‘recreating Game of Thrones’
David's family blasted the footage as "appalling" and "disgraceful"
THE family of an aid worker murdered by Jihadi John have slammed Sir Rod Stewart over his "mock execution" video - but the rocker claims he was just acting out Game of Thrones.
The rocker offered his "deepest apologies" after he was filmed appearing to re-enact an ISIS-style beheading in the desert and said his actions were "misinterpreted".
But Bethany Haines, the daughter of aid worker David who was beheaded by ISIS thug Jihadi John in 2014, blasted the footage as "appalling".
She told : "There's some things that are funny but that isn't.
"I had a lot of respect for Rod Stewart, now you couldn't pay me to listen to his music."
David's widow added that the stunt was "disgraceful".
Mrs Haines told : "(Rod's) 72-years-old. That's pretty brainless. I don't understand how someone could do something like that. It's disgusting.
"I think they should apologise to all the families. We're not trying to forget, because we can never forget. But being constantly reminded, it's not helping."
Sir Rod, who was in Abu Dhabi with model wife Penny Lancaster for a concert as part of a world tour, is seen playfully walking across some sand dunes with a group of friends before he coaxes one friend to kneel on the ground and makes a cutting motion across his throat.

In a statement Sir Rod said: "From re-enacting the Beatles' Abbey Road crossing to spontaneously playing out Game Of Thrones, we were simply larking about pre-show.
"Understandably, this has been misinterpreted and I send my deepest apologies to those who have been offended."
The original clip was posted to Penny's tens of thousands of Instagram followers with the caption: "Rod Stewart (leader) band doing a 'Beatles' sand dune crossing."
However the clip now seems to have been edited to take out the fake execution scene.
Sir Rod performed in Abu Dhabi a few days ago and the couple have been posting a number of pictures of their trip.
The video was posted in Instagram alongside a number of pictures of Penny and Sir Rod enjoying their holiday, including one where the pair can be seen relaxing on a dune with the caption "sandy afternoons".
Another shows them touring a mosque and one of Rod being given a "Celtic" henna tattoo on his arm.
