MIKE Lynch is a billionaire tech entrepreneur who went missing in August 2024 after superyacht Bayesian sank in Sicily.
There were 12 guests and 10 crew on board - 15 were rescued.
Who is Mike Lynch?
Mike Lynch is the co-founder of Autonomy Corporation and the founder of Invoke Capital.
He is also a co-founder of cybersecurity company Darktrace.
He has also had various other roles in the tech world including advisory jobs.
Mike was born on June 16, 1965, in Ilford, and grew up near Chelmsford in Essex.

His mum was a nurse from County Tipperary and his dad worked as a firefighter from County Cork in Ireland.
Lynch set up his first company, Lynett Systems Ltd, in the 1980s when he was still studying for his PhD in neural networks.
He has gone on to be involved in several large businesses such as Cambridge Neurodynamics, Autonomy and Invoke Capital.
Mike has won several awards across his career, including being given an OBE for services to enterprise in the 2006 New Year Honours.

In June 2008 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and in 2011, he was named as the most influential person in UK IT by Computer Weekly.
He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2014 as well as being made a Deputy Lieutenant of the County of Suffolk the same year.
Away from work, Mike is married to wife Angela Bacares and the pair have two children together.
On Monday, August 19, 2024, he was named as one of the people missing after a boat sank in Sicily following a storm.
He was sailing on the £166,000 per week Bayesian yacht in Palmero when it sunk.
He remains missing.
Lynch’s wife, Angela, is among those who have been rescued.
Three other Brits, two Americans, and one Canadian are among the remaining six missing.
The body of one victim who was sailing onboard the yacht has already been pulled from the Mediterranean.
