Missing girl, 12, is FOUND safe after disappearing from Kent high street & sparking tense two-day hunt
A MISSING 12-year-old girl has been found after she disappeared from a high street in Kent.
Cops launched a desperate hunt for Katie Spice, after she was last spotted in High Street, Sittingbourne, at around 4pm on Sunday.
Katie has since been found after a two day hunt and the force thanked everyone who helped in the search for her.
Cops confirmed at around 7.45pm on Tuesday that the girl had been "safely located".
Further enquiries from Kent Police earlier suggested that the 12-year-old may have taken a bus to Dover that evening.
Cops previously released a CCTV image of Katie which was recorded as she got off a train at Canterbury East railway station just after 5pm.
Sittingbourne High Street and the rail station are about 15 miles apart in Kent.
Kent Police described the 12-year-old as 5ft, 2ins tall, of slim build and has long black hair and brown eyes.
Katie was seen in white footwear, black leggings and a pink top on the latest CCTV image released by cops before she was found.
