Violent disorder first erupted in Southport after three young girls were stabbed to death, before spreading to other towns and cities across the UK.

Cops have warned offenders to expect a "knock on the door" as extensive probes saw hundreds of rioters hauled into court.

Now, two thugs have been jailed after inciting hatred from the comfort of their living rooms.

Jordan Parlour, 28, and Tyler Kay, 26, posted vile messages online.

Parlour was the first to be jailed over racist posts encouraging rioting – before blowing a raspberry at the judge as he was led to prison.

But Kay was handed the longest sentence, at 38-months, for posting "set fire to all the f****ing hotels".

Two Holiday Inn Express', in Rotherham and Tamworth, were torched as vandals used petrol bombs after smashing the windows while hundreds of residents were still inside.

Parlour, a sign installer, who couldn’t join the disorder because of a broken ankle, urged “every man and his dog” to “smash the f**k” out of the Britannia Hotel in the West Yorkshire city.

When pressed on why, the yob then added: “Cos they are over here living the life of Reilly, off the tax you hard working people earn, when it could be put to better use.

“They come over with no trades to their name and sit and doss. They get top band priority on housing and many other reasons."

Earlier, the court heard how Parlour's mother sent a note to the court to plead for leniency.

She wrote: "We can only speculate that he has been caught up and swept away by emotions circulating around the country."

Prosecutor Matthew Donkin said: "The racial hatred in this case relates to foreign refugees and asylum seekers.

"The specific crime committed by him was by way of posts on Facebook.

“This offence must be viewed in the context of the widespread and extensively reported scenes of disorder, violence and damage seen across the county.

"Coverage of this has been broad, on the mainstream media and has been unavoidable.

“At the time, he must have only have known what he was doing was part of a pattern of racial hatred and disorder spreading around the country."

Bitten by police dog

A MAN who was bitten by a police dog after throwing a can at police officers during riots in Sunderland has been jailed for 26 months.

Andrew Smith, 41, of High Street East, Sunderland, was at the centre of a crowd wearing all black with his hood up during the protest that soon turned into violent disorder on August 2, Newcastle Crown Court heard.

A judge was told that when police told the crowd to move back, the defendant started moving backwards slowly before taking a bag containing a can of alcohol from his pocket and throwing it at officers.

He was bitten by a police dog and taken to the ground, resisting throughout as he was being arrested, it was said.

In mitigation, the court heard alcohol misuse was "clearly the source of his difficulty" and he was "ashamed of what he did to his own community".

The court heard that after he was arrested on Monday, cops examined Parlour's phone and recovered the original post and others.

Jailing him for 20 months, the Recorder of Leeds, Guy Kearl, said there was “no doubt” Parlour was “inciting others” to attack the hotel.

Meanwhile, Kay was blasted by a judge for his "utterly repulsive, racist and shocking posts" on X after he was convicted of inciting racial hatred online.

He uploaded the shocking messages to his 127 followers in the early hours of Wednesday before he was arrested and hauled before a court, in one of the first cases of its kind in the country.

The court heard dad-of-three Kay posted: "Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f*****g hotels full of the b*****ds for all I care... if that makes me racist so be it."

But he tried to claim it was simply a repeat of a message uploaded by Lucy Connolly, the wife of a local Tory councillor, days earlier.

She was arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred - and Kay, who owns an IT firm, claimed his message was a "political thing" because he disagreed with the police taking action "over someone expressing their opinion".

Called to give evidence, he told the court he "didn't agree with setting fire to hotels for any reason" and wished he had added a caveat to say why he had posted the message.

However, Judge Lucking said she "rejected" his explanation, telling him: "You have a fundamentally racist mindset."

The pair were just two of a handful of cases in which suspects have been charged with stirring up racial hatred since the widespread disorder began.

It comes after a 13-year-old child has become the youngest rioter to be charged over the chaos.

The schoolkid, who can't be named because they're under 18, was charged with violent disorder and will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court.

Meanwhile, Bobby Shirbon, 18, and Kieron Gatenby, 19, were both jailed at Teesside Crown Court yesterday after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing.

The pair unleashed violent carnage a far-right riot in Hartlepool on Wednesday last week.

Shirbon was seen hurling bottles and chunks of wood at cops after leaving his 18th birthday party at a bingo hall to join the riot.

The teen yob was also seen smashing windows and causing damage in the Teesside town.

When he was collared by cops, Shirbon told them: "It's OK, everyone else is doing it."

Shirbon has now been jailed for two years and six months after admitting his role in the riots.

Gatenby also joined the far right mob for up to an hour to chant racial slurs and attack cops.

The 19-year-old was seen on CCTV hurling a missile - believed to be an egg - at riot cops in the Teesside town.

He has been jailed for a year and four months after also pleading guilty.

In the full list released by the CPS today, a 14-year-old youth was charged with violent disorder and will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court.

Another teenager, aged 16, was also charged with violent disorder, damage, offensive weapon and will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court.

Two boys, aged 17 will also appear at Hull Magistrates Court court charged with violent disorder and burglary.

Identified by tattoos

A BALACLAVA-wearing rioter identified by his tattoos and a 21-year-old who posted videos of himself encouraging people to break "every f****** window" to his own Instagram account were among the first people to be jailed over violent disorder in Sunderland.

A judge said the defendants had "brought shame on the city" by taking part in an "orgy of mindless, destructive violence and disorder and mayhem" on August 2.

Newcastle Crown Court heard a planned protest in the city centre "very soon turned into widespread violent disorder" as police were met with "serious and sustained levels of violence".

As the rioters moved across different areas of the city, a police hub was set on fire, businesses suffered damage, shops were looted, windows were smashed and vehicles were damaged, it was said.

Josh Kellett, who was wearing a balaclava but was identified by his tattoos, was jailed for two and a half years for his part in the riot.

Kellett, also known as Josh Major, was seen on police drone footage throwing stones at officers four times in 45 seconds.

The 29-year-old, of Southcroft, Washington, was identified by an anonymous member of the public who watched a live stream of the riot and contacted police to say they recognised a person who was throwing items at police.

Cops in Merseyside and Greater Manchester have released new images of people wanted in connection with the rioting.

Merseyside Detective Superintendent Paul Speight said: "To anyone intent on causing disorder here I have one clear message.

"We will find you, and we will put you before the courts."

He said detectives were working through hours of CCTV and camera phone footage.

SENIOR MOMENT

Britain's' oldest rioter was also jailed yesterday after tossing bricks at cops and wielding a bat during last week's violence.

William Morgan, 69, was one of dozens of violent rioters across the UK jailed as cops cracked down on a week of carnage.

Some 400 people have since been arrested, with more than 100 charged as thugs appear in court today to be sentenced.

Ryan Sheers, 29, was bitten by a police dog that pulled down his shorts during rioting in Hartlepool.

He has now been locked up for two years and two months.

Daniel McGuire, 45, who spat at police officers while on TV, was today sentenced to 32-months at Plymouth Crown Court.

Carl Holliday, 30, of Tankerville Street, Hartlepool, was jailed for two years and eight months after the court heard he "repeatedly threw metal sheeting" at police during riots in the town.

'Orgy of mindless, destructive'

A WOMAN who pushed industrial wheelie bins towards police during an "orgy of mindless, destructive" city centre violence has been put behind bars.

Leanne Hodgson, who had tried and failed to buy a balaclava that day, shouted abuse at officers, provided rioters with debris to use as missiles and smashed a police car window when widespread trouble erupted in Sunderland last week.

Newcastle Crown Court heard Hodgson, who was seen wearing distinctive pink shorts on video footage that went viral across social media, applauded when the city's police hub, which was set on fire, came under attack.

Prosecutor Omar Ahmad told the court the police officers, dogs and horses were pelted with missiles as disorder spread throughout the city last Friday afternoon.

Northumbria Police Chief Constable Vanessa Jardine said in an impact statement it remains unclear how much damage was caused by the rioters but the cost of repairs could run to hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Police vehicles as well as community buildings and businesses came under attack.

Ms Jardine said the violence was met with a £1 million policing operation and the psychological cost to officers involved is yet to be known.

She added: "The North East is a wonderful, vibrant and safe place to live and work.

"The vast majority of our people are law abiding, proud members of the community."

Hodgson, 43, of Holborn Road, Sunderland, has been jailed for two-and-a-half years for her part in the violence.

Duncan McReddie, defending Holliday, said he was a chronic alcoholic with no extreme political or racist views, but had heard the commotion while drinking a few streets away and "joined in".

The UK's oldest rioter, retired welder Morgan, was arrested during rioting that saw a public library burned down in Liverpool on Saturday night.

Sentencing Morgan to 32 months, Recorder of Liverpool Andrew Menary said: “You are 69 years of age now, but your advancing years did not stop you from taking part."

He pleaded guilty on Monday.

The court heard Morgan told police a wooden cosh he was holding was “for his own protection” after he was arrested.

Prosecutor Christopher Taylor said the thug dropped the weapon as he was charged by multiple officers, before “kicking out and swearing” as they tried to handcuff him on the floor.

Footage played to the court showed Morgan screaming “f****** a***holes, I’m f***ing 70 mate” at officers as they attempted to detain him.

As fireworks were shot at cops in the background, Morgan yelled: “I’m gonna die here. I’m English, I’m English.

“Get off me. I’m f***ing 70 years of age.

“F*** off, you c***, f*** off. You’re gonna kill me.”

An officer then asks: “Why are you here, why are you in a riot man?”

Morgan replies: “I’m trying to go home. F***s sake. I appreciate what you’re doing.”

He then told officers he was in the area “because I live here”, adding: “You don’t know what I have been through. I’ve been pepper sprayed.”

Mitigating, Paul Lewis told the court Morgan had “no experience” of prison, was “profoundly” sorry and was influenced by drinking on the day of the riots.
