Armchair thug who urged mob to attack migrant hotel is first to convicted over Facebook posts stirring up racial hatred
A VILE thug who posted Facebook messages about attacking a hotel where asylum seekers were housed has been convicted.
Jordan Parlour, 28, made the online comments advocating an attack on a hotel in Leeds, and the posts were reported to police.
The hotel manager put the building into lockdown on Saturday due to the disorder in the city, and at least one window was broken after stones were thrown over the weekend.
There was no evidence that Parlour, from Seacroft, Leeds, attended the hotel.
The offence of intending to stir required the consent of the Attorney General (AG) to prosecute in accordance with Section 27 of the Public Order Act 1986.
The AG consented to this charge being taken forward this afternoon, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

This is the first conviction for posting online in relation to the public disorder.
Parlour pleaded guilty at Leeds Magistrates’ Court today and was remanded in custody ahead of his sentence at Leeds Crown Court on Friday, 9 August.
He admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour intending thereby to stir up racial hatred, or where having regard to all the circumstances, racial hatred is likely to be stirred up thereby, contrary to section 19(1) of the Public Order Act 1986.
Nick Price, Director of Legal Services at the Crown Prosecution Service, said: "I want to be absolutely clear, anyone involved in inciting this thuggish behaviour will face severe consequences.

"Parlour advocated violence through his online posts and risked the safety of those staying at the hotel.
"The CPS will continue to act swiftly and robustly regarding these cases and ensure those responsible for such deplorable criminality are brought to justice."

The chaos has so far taken hold of dozens of UK towns and cities with little sign of abating.
It comes as plotters are threatening to stir up more hatred with further demonstrations planned in the coming days.
Far-right yobs are understood to be planning to attack 39 immigration centres and have shared a sick ‘arson manual’ in a vile online forum.

But Sir Keir Starmer has repeatedly warned those taking part in the chaos face a football-hooligan style crackdown.
And now rioters are being hauled to court and convicted over their involvement in the nights of carnage, with some sobbing as they face justice.
