The Ring star Daveigh Chase arrested after ‘leaving dying man outside hospital then fleeing’

Chase is not a suspect in the man's death and her arrest was was due to an unrelated misdemeanor traffic warrant

THE FORMER child star of The Ring Daveigh Chase has been arrested after she allegedly left a dying man outside a hospital in America to try and get him help.

Chase, now 26, reportedly dumped the man outside the Los Angeles hospital in the early hours of February 15 and immediately left.

Chase, who stared in The Ring when she was a child, is not a suspect in the man’s death and was arrested because of an outstanding warrant

The man was later pronounced dead after he was found by staff, .

Chase’s arrest however has nothing to do with the man’s death.

Police sources told the news website that Chase, who played Samara Morgan in horror flick The Ring,  had been hanging out with the man in the hours before he died.

When cops ran her name, they discovered an outstanding warrant and arrested Chase on Wednesday.

The arrest was due to an unrelated misdemeanor traffic warrant.

Sources say Chase, who also voiced Lilo in Lilo and Stitch, is not a suspect in the man’s death.

Police are treating it as a possible overdose and Chase says she was “merely trying to get him help at the hospital”.

Last year Divergent actress Shailene Woodley was arrested while taking part in a protest.

She was among several protesters who were making a stand at the Dakota Access Pipeline in Sioux County, North Dakota.

She was placed under arrest for trespass, an offence which is classed as a misdemeanour.

The Fault Between Our Stars actress posted a video on her Facebook and asked her followers: “Why am I being arrested and no one else is?

“It’s because I’m well-known, it’s because I have 40,000 people watching.”
