‘George Michael’s Snappy Snaps crash Range Rover’ for sale on eBay just weeks after ex-Wham! star’s tragic death
AN eBay seller claims he has George Michael's Snappy Snaps crash Range Rover and is offering it for sale online.
Bids for the 14-year-old navy blue 4x4 have already reached £6,000 after the car was listed on eBay with a starting price of £2,000 last Wednesday.
On the listing, the seller claims they bought the car directly from the former Wham! star, who was found dead in his bed at his home in Goring, Oxfordshire, on Christmas Day aged 53.
The eBay listing says the Range Rover - which has clocked up almost 80,000 miles - had been parked outside the star's house in Highgate, North London, when it was sold on two years ago but has been in storage ever since.
The listing also shows a Registration Certificate, with the registered keeper listed as Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou - the star's real name.
The seller, from St John's Wood, north west London, claims in his listing the car is in "good used condition" but has "some scratches... caused when driven into Snappy Snaps".
The owner says the successful bidder will have the opportunity to own "a piece of pop history", adding that it was part of a "very turbulent time in George's life".
The Careless Whisper singer ploughed his vehicle into the photography shop in Hampstead, north London, in 2010 while under the influence of drugs.
He had his driver's licence revoked for five years and was given an eight-week prison sentence.
George later apologised to the store manager, saying: "I'm genuinely and sincerely sorry for smashing into your shop."

Fans flocked to the store after his death as an unlikely pilgrimage to pay tribute to the star, leaving flowers and messages outside.
But staff were forced to ask people to stop bombarding the shop with tributes and a sign was placed outside the shop politely pleading with fans to quit leaving their messages last month.
Fans hoping to snap up the car - which isn't due for an MOT for another year - will have to be quick as the auction is set to end on Saturday evening.
The eBay seller notes in the description that they have the log book for the petrol automatic Range Rover, which has two previous owners including George's dad.
The owner adds that it was one of two bought at the time - noting that the second was a "grey one written off by hitting a truck".
In August 2009, George was allegedly in an £80,000 Range Rover when he crashed into a lorry on the A34 in Berkshire.
It was followed by a string of accidents including most recently in 2013 when he was involve in a horror crash on the M1 at rush hour.
The singer, who was a passenger in the £70,000 Range Rover, had to be airlifted to hospital for head injuries after the crash near Welwyn, Hertfordshire.
Thames Valley Police are still awaiting the results of toxicology tests on George's organs to work out what caused his shock death at the end of last year after results came back "inconclusive".
His body has not yet been released as a coroner waits to see if drug intake contributed to his death.
The singer’s family may have to wait until March as test delays drag on - and until then his funeral can't take place.
When that does happen, he is expected to have two funerals – one for close pals and family and one for his extended circle of friends.
Details have emerged that George Michael will be buried in his favourite suit wearing a gold Cartier watch – an outfit selected by his family and close friend Andros Georgiou.
But The Sun exclusively revealed that the singer's family has banned Fadi from attending his funeral.
George's cousin Andros Georgiou said: “Fadi has not been invited to the funeral. He is not welcome, the family hate him. Heaven help him if he turned up.
“Fadi was not really his boyfriend. No one has spoken to him and he just seems to be getting on with his life. It makes my stomach turn.”
