Blood-soaked ER doctor shares moment he performed CPR on man shot in head at Trump rally who had ‘brain matter’ visible
AN emergency room doctor attending former president Trump's rally revealed he applied CPR on an attendee after gunshots rang out.
The doctor stated that in the initial confusion, he believed the shots to be firecrackers.
"I heard the shots. I thought it was firecrackers begin with. Somebody over there was screaming 'he's been shot he's been shot,'" the doctor who was at the Pennsylvania rally said per .
"So I made my way over. I said I'm an emergency department physician. Let me help you."
The doctor, who wore a bloodstained t-shirt later told CBS that the man "was jammed between the benches."
"There's lots of blood and he had brain matter," he told the outlet in a video on X.
"So I got him together so I got people there really helpful. I did CPR chest compressions as well," the doctor continued.
Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldfinger confirmed at least one death with two others listed as critically injured.
Trump, who was rallying support for the upcoming 2024 election, was rushed to the hospital and treated for the wound he sustained on his ear.
The former president later posted a statement on Truth Social confirming he had been shot and that one of his supporters had been killed.

In the post, Trump also thanked the Secret Service and law enforcement for their "rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania."
"Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured," Trump wrote.
"It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead. I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear," the former president wrote.
"I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"
Trump's campaign spokesperson, Steven Cheung, thanked law enforcement and first responders "for their quick action during this heinous act."
"[Trump] is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow."

5:30pm: Crowds were still waiting for Trump.

6:11pm: Gunshots were fired as Trump delivered remarks.
6:12pm: Trump was ushered off stage by Secret Service agents.
6:42pm: Secret Service confirmed Trump is safe.
7:24pm: The shooter and one rally attendee are confirmed dead by law enforcement officials.

The suspected shooter was later revealed to be 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.
According to the Secret Service, Crooks managed to perch himself on top of a manufacturing plant roughly 200 feet from the Republican crowd.
Crooks then fired five shots into the crowd.
The Pennsylvania native was later shot dead by snipers who returned the gunfire from the roof of another building nearby.
According to the FBI, Crooks had no identification on him and was identified through his DNA.
Pictures showed armed cops standing over his body on the roof, with an AR-15 reportedly recovered nearby.

Crooks' father later told CNN he was trying to figure out “what the hell is going on."
His father also said he wants to talk to law enforcement before publicly speaking about his son.
