A BRITISH tourist screamed for her Jeep driver to "please go" after an elephant chased them for more than a mile in a South African national park.
People on the tour can be heard shouting in fear as the elephant approaches the small vehicle and doggedly follows it.
Footage taken last month shows the enormous animal flapping its ears and running behind the safari Jeep.
The family were on holiday and taking a tour through Kruger National Park when the elephant started tailing them.
The woman shouts "Oh God, please no" a few times before imploring the driver to put his foot down.
She seems to flip from fear to fine as she then talks to the other passengers and tells them they will be fine as the driver won't endanger them.
The driver suggests the elephant does not like the vehicle and is trying to chase it down.
Eventually the elephant seems to lose interest and walks off the road into the bush, and the car drives on.
Last year a report said that African elephants in Tanzania and maned wolves in Brazil are among the species most at risk of extinction, due to poaching and the expansion of farmland.
While wildlife continues to decline on average, conservation efforts for some mammals in Africa has increased populations of grassland species, the report revealed.
And Prince Harry described his “amazing” mission last year to move herds of African elephants hundreds of miles to a safer home.
He joined conservationists on the ambitious 500 Elephants project in Malawi to transport them from an overstocked region to one with less human conflict and more food.
