SHOCKING footage has emerged showing the moment a man is brutally knocked out by a runaway tyre.
The footage, filmed in the Brazilian municipality of Ipatinga, Minas Gerais State, shows a man and woman chatting as they walk along a street.
The unsuspecting pair stroll along, blissfully unaware of the horror about to unfold.
Suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, a car tyre comes bouncing across the road at high speed.
The fast-moving projectile smashes the man in the back of the head, sending him sprawling to the ground.
As the sickening impact of the tyre throws him forward, his panicking companion rushes to his aid.
The horrific blow seems heavy enough to have killed him and several passers-by rush to his aid.
But according to reports on social media, the man – named unofficially as 50-year-old Roberto Carlos Fernandes – miraculously survived.
The victim is said to have suffered fractures to the chest and face and is now in a stable condition in hospital.
According to unconfirmed reports, the shocking incident was caused when a car pulling a trailer passed by at speed on an adjacent motorway.
As the vehicle went by a tyre is said to have come loose, sending it flying.
It can be seen in the footage kicking up dirt as it spins across the grass in between the road and the path the victim is walking along.
The vehicle carrying the trailer has reportedly not yet been found by police.
