Engaged couple who were ‘butchered in horrific murder’ are left so badly mutilated cops have to use X-ray machine to identify number of bodies at crime scene
Mark Greenlaw, 37, and his partner Jennifer O'Connor, 39, were slaughtered in their Massachusetts home
A COUPLE who got engaged just before Christmas are the victims of a horrific double murder which shocked cops who had to use an X-ray machine to determine how many bodies were at the macabre crime scene.
Mark Greenlaw, 37, who was a construction worker and his partner Jennifer O'Connor, 39, were slaughtered and butchered in their own basement.
The couple's mutilated bodies were found in their home after the killing, and their body parts had been wrapped up in plastic and rugs by Massachusetts State Police.
The pair had been shot and Michael Hebb, 45, was arrested at his home in the town on Monday.
reported cops are still looking for another suspect who has not been named in the murder.
It has not yet been revealed how Hebb knew the couple - he is set to appear in court on Tuesday.
He lives just five miles away from where the bodies were discovered.
Forensics teams were forced to use x-ray machines to work out just how many corpses were at the scene because of the number of body parts.
A woman had alerted cops after she found the pair mutilated in the basement and then flagged down a passing car to take her to the police station.

The couple's family and friends left tributes for them on Monday - O'Connor's aunt Dorothy described her as "beautiful" saying: "I know she is at peace and with God. Please say a prayer for her."
Greenlaw, who had a 'white power' tattoo, also had tributes from pals who said he was "one of the good guys."
reported the house was rented in the name of a 67-year-old disabled man.
