A MYSTERIOUS flying object has been spotted in an incredible video of two German fighter jets scrambled to escort a London-bound passenger plane after the pilot lost contact.

A pair of German Air Force Eurofighters intercepted a Jet Airways 777-300ER heading for the capital from Mumbai on Saturday after it failed to respond on the appropriate air traffic control frequencies.

The incredible footage was captured from a British Airways plane close to the incident in the skies over Cologne in Germany.

But many people noticed a small dark object in the footage that appears to be moving very quickly to the left of the three aircraft, sparking speculation it is a UFO.

One wrote: "Seen this video few times since it was posted. Something is inherently creepy about this."

Another added: "Great video! Also there is a UFO flying through the clouds!!"

But aviation experts were quick to dismiss the claim. One said: "The crossing dark spot is the shadow of higher traffic cast on the cloud top. Its speed is typical of jet traffic.

"Nothing unusual about it at all."

Aviation enthusiast CirrusPilot wrote on Facebook: "The JA pilots saw the Eurofighters and after speaking over emergency frequencies the plane carried on to London."

A Jet Airways spokesperson said: "Contact between Jet Airways flight 9W 118, from Mumbai to London Heathrow, of February 16, 2017, and the local ATC, was briefly lost while flying over German airspace.

"Communication was safely restored within a few minutes. As a precaution, the German Air Force deployed its aircraft to ensure the safety of the flight and its guests.
"The flight with 330 guests and 15 crew subsequently landed at London without incident."

Jet Airways has duly reported the matter to the concerned authorities including the DGCA. As part of the standard process, the flight crew of 9W 118 has been de-rostered pending investigation."

Last week a “UFO” was allegedly seen over a town in Normandy in France.

A local in the area shot the eerie footage after coming across the unusual object floating above his village.

Taking out his smartphone to film the unidentified object, he captured as much of its movements as he could before his battery died.
