A TEENAGE boy has died after a crash with a car in South Normanton.

The 14-year-old boy was riding a scooter when he collided with the black Ford Fusion.

Police were called to Fordbridge Lane just before 8pm last night.

A police spokesman said: "A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene and being unfit to drive through drink or drugs.

"He remains in custody and will be questioned today."
