Having insisted their relationship is "the real deal" on Good Morning Britain Paula said she would like children with the lag and is campaigning to see him walk free.
She said: "I have had relationships, very functional, loving, wonderful relationships, that have not worked out because I have not connected with them in a soulful way and I have connected with Charlie in a soulful way."
Paula revealed she had been in contact with the con for four years, making the first of four visits to HMP Wakefield in November 2016.
Asked if the engagement was a publicity stunt she said: "I do know Charlie and this is the real deal."
She continued: "If only I could have met him outside of this situation, how wonderful that would be, however he is where he is and I have met him and I can't deny chemistry, you cannot deny when you fall in love with somebody.
"I'm very excited to be his fiance because I'm in love with the man and that's God's honest truth."
Paula said the love birds would be married "sooner rather than later" in the prison chapel, where they are allowed 10 guests who will be a mixture of their friends and family.
Insisting the lag, who has attacked guards and fellow prisoners while inside, is reformed character she said: "Charlie's the first to admit he's done a lot of terrifying things and I'm aware of those things.
"But the Charlie that I know is not the same person who has done those things.
"He's a different character now, he's 64-years-old.
"He's a gentle giant and he's a gentleman he's very caring, he's never hurt a woman, he's never hurt a child."
The 64-year-old con proposed to Paula Williamson in a Valentine’s Day phone call, serenading her with a rendition of Frank Sinatra's My Way.
Paula previously told the : "I’m madly in love with Charlie and he’s madly in love with me.
"But even I can’t believe I’m marrying Britain’s most notorious prisoner."
Armed robber Bronson has been behind bars for 41 years, 37 in solitary confinement, after repeatedly having his sentence increased for attacking staff and fellow prisoners and taking them hostage.
Paula, 36, told the Mail her mother is concerned about the unlikely match.
But the pair plan to marry on her birthday in August and Paula reportedly revealed she wants a traditional white wedding.
But she said not everything will be traditional revealing "I’d very happily spend the night with Charlie in his cell, but it’s not allowed".
Upon their first meeting Paula said she was struck by Bronson’s, “deep green” eyes and soft hands.
The former jewel thief, currently incarcerated at HMP Wakefield, sent a diamond ring to Paula's house to propose.
He renamed the classic 'Our Way' and in a video obtained by can be heard to have changed the lyrics to "Regrets, we have none" and added they have brought "dark times into the light".
He sang to his girlfriend as he proposed: "And now the start is here, and so we face our life together.
"My Paula, I'll say it clear, I'll spend my life of which I'm certain.
"We've lived a crazy life and travelled in and out of darkness.
"But more, much more than this we did it our way."
Other specially altered lyrics included: "We planned this lovely day and I saved up for a diamond ring.
"But more, much more than this, this is our day."
Bronson has also taken up art and now goes by the name Charles Salvador, in a nod to his favourite artist Salvador Dali.
Paula has previously said: "I’ve had relationships with both men and women in the past but none of them come close to my love for Charlie.
“He’s so eccentric, but so am I. It’s a perfect match.
“I know he has a public image of being a violent prisoner, but in reality he is so different.
“He has done a lot of artwork for me and I really treasure each and every one.
“He can never change the things he has done in the past but he is working so hard to put that behind him."
Paula, who has also appeared in Hollyoaks and Fred and Rose West drama Appropriate Adult, said they had been in a relationship for five months.
The 36-year-old wore a revealing red dress during one visit and said: “There are obviously difficulties that him being in prison cause our relationship, but we feel so strongly about each other we’re determined to make it work.”
Paula, of Stoke-on-Trent, has also been pictured wearing a necklace spelling out Salvador.
Twice-married Bronson has claimed he told child killer Rose West to commit suicide after she sent him a love letter from behind bars.
