Actress reveals love for lag Charles Bronson but adds ‘I can’t believe I’m marrying Britain’s most notorious prisoner’
THE ACTRESS girlfriend of violent jailbird Charles Bronson has said she's "madly" in love with him, but "can't believe I'm marrying Britain's most notorious prisoner".
The 64-year-old con proposed to Paula Williamson in a Valentine’s Day phone call, serenading her with a rendition of Frank Sinatra's My Way.
Paula told the : "I’m madly in love with Charlie and he’s madly in love with me.
"But even I can’t believe I’m marrying Britain’s most notorious prisoner."
Armed robber Bronson has been behind bars for 41 years, 37 in solitary confinement, after repeatedly having his sentence increased for attacking prison staff and taking them hostage.

Paula, 36, who has been in Coronation Street and played a stripper in Emmerdale, told the Mail her mother is concerned about the unlikely match.
But, the pair plan to marry on her birthday in August and Paula reportedly revealed she wants a traditional white wedding.
But, she said not everything will be traditional revealing "I’d very happily spend the night with Charlie in his cell, but it’s not allowed".
The Sun understands the former jewel thief, currently incarcerated at HMP Wakefield, sent a diamond ring to Paula's house and crooned as he proposed.
He renamed the classic 'Our Way' and in a video obtained by can be heard to have changed the lyrics to "Regrets, we have none" and added they have brought "dark times into the light".
He sang to his girlfriend as he proposed: "And now the start is here, and so we face our life together.
"My Paula, I'll say it clear, I'll spend my life of which I'm certain.
"We've lived a crazy life and travelled in and out of darkness.
"But more, much more than this we did it our way."
Other specially altered lyrics included: "We planned this lovely day and I saved up for a diamond ring.
"But more, much more than this, this is our day."
Bronson has also taken up art and now goes by the name Charles Salvador, in a nod to his favourite artist Salvador Dali.
Paula has previously said: "I’ve had relationships with both men and women in the past but none of them come close to my love for Charlie.
“He’s so eccentric, but so am I. It’s a perfect match.
“I know he has a public image of being a violent prisoner, but in reality he is so different.
“He has done a lot of artwork for me and I really treasure each and every one.
“He can never change the things he has done in the past, but he is working so hard to put that behind him."
Paula, who has also appeared in Hollyoaks and Fred and Rose West drama Appropriate Adult, said they had been in a relationship for five months.
The 36-year-old wore a revealing red dress when she visited him and said: “There are obviously difficulties that him being in prison cause our relationship, but we feel so strongly about each other we’re determined to make it work.”
Paula, of Stoke-on-Trent, also wore a necklace spelling out Salvador her visit to the prison.
She was there for more than two hours and left smiling broadly with pals in a car.
Twice-married Bronson has told friends he hopes to be freed one day but has no idea when.
