Downing Street duped by serial trickster Heydon Prowse who claimed the US President wanted to send the PM her favourite bouquet as a special gift

THERESA May’s top team fell for a floral Valentine’s hoax after a prankster rang No10 claiming to be working for Donald Trump.

Downing Street were duped by serial trickster Heydon Prowse who claimed the US President wanted to send the PM her favourite flowers as a special February 14th gift.

The unidentified female No10 aide revealed hydrangeas were Mrs May’s preferred blooms after ringing the joker back on his British mobile number.

And she collapses into giggles when the prankster jokes about Mr Trump grabbing Mrs May’s p***y instead of her hand.

During the six minute Downing Street exchange the prankster claims to be “Jeff Arnold”, an assistant to the White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer in the Oval Office.

After being put through to the PM’s office, he asks what Mrs May’s favourite flowers are because they “want to send something really nice for Valentine’s Day”.

The aide says she’s not 100 per cent sure “off the top of her head” but says she will check and get back to him.

She rings him back a short while later on his British mobile asking: “Can I check who the gift is coming from?”

The prankster replies: “It’s essentially from Mr Trump but Sean Spicer is organising it.”

She then responds: “Ah yes, I see, excellent, fantastic. Ok, my hunch is hydrangeas. “

Jeff exclaims: “Hydrangeas, absolutely fabulous, ok”, before the aide interrupts to reveal Mrs May is a “keen gardener”.

Jeff adds: “Ok what we’ll also do is we’ll send over a lovely card with a picture of Mr Trump grabbing Theresa May’s p***y, I mean hand, sorry ,(aide laughs says Oh God) – I meant hand obviously, sorry that was a slip of the tongue.

“We’ll send over a lovely Valentine’s gift. Please pass Mr Trump’s regards onto Theresa because really he is such a lovely man and he had such a lovely time with Theresa he just wants to pass than onto her, ok?

The aide then replies : “Of course I will certainly relay that message.” before the call ends.

Last night the pranksters said they couldn’t believe her officials didn’t twig – even when they left the UK mobile to call back on.

Joe Wade, from the Don’t Panic advertising agency behind the sting, said they were shocked aides fell for the joke.

Agency founder Joe Wade told The Sun: “We thought this was a fun thing to do to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

“The person down the line even laughed at the joke about grabbing her by the p***y.

“We were pretty shocked by the ‘hand grab’ although there’s probably not much Theresa May could have done about it.
