Boy, 12, killed in horror hit-and-run as cops launch urgent hunt for driver

The BMW was later seized but those inside are yet to be found

A 12-year-old boy has been killed in a hit-and-run horror with police launching an urgent hunt for the driver.

Cops confirmed that the boy was struck by a BMW on Radford Road in Coventry at around 4.30pm yesterday.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he sadly died at the scene.

Officers later seized a BMW involved in the crash but are hunting for the driver and passengers, who fled the scene.

Sergeant Rich Evans, from the force's serious collision investigation unit, said: “We would appeal to the driver or for any of the passengers who were in the vehicle to do the right thing and to contact us.

"A 12-year-old boy has tragically lost his life and we need you to come forward and hand yourselves in.

“We are helping to support the family at this very difficult time as they try to comprehend what has happened.
