£1m EuroMillions winner considers suing Lotto bosses after claiming jackpot at 17 ‘ruined her life’
Lottery winner Jane Park, now 21, doesn’t believe people under the age of 18 should be allowed to win the prize and that it has made her life 'ten times worse'
A LOTTO winner who scooped £1million aged 17 is considering suing lottery bosses – because the huge payout has ruined her life.
Jane Park, 21, believes Camelot should not be allowing people her age to win such vast sums of money.
Jane, now 21, scooped the million-pound EuroMillions jackpot while playing her first ever ticket and said people don’t realise the “extent of [her] stress”.
Speaking to the , she said: “I have material things but apart from that my life is empty. “What is my purpose in life?”
Before cashing in on her lottery win Jane was working as an admin temp for £8 per hour while living at home with her mum Linda in a two-bedroom flat on a council estate.
Jane said: “I thought it would make [my life] ten times better but it’s made it ten times worse.
“I wish I had no money most days.
“I say to myself, ‘My life would be so much easier if I hadn’t won.’”
She added: “I think 18 should be the minimum age for winning the lottery, at the least.
“The current age of 16 is far too young.”
Jane used her winnings on a £4,500 boob job shortly after scooping the jackpot.
She said: “I always wanted them done – I’m a lot happier and much more confident.
“I can wear proper dresses and I feel more like a woman.
“They’re up there with the best things I’ve bought.”
Other things Jane has bought with her winnings include two properties, a Louis Vuitton handbag, a chihuahua and an £18,000 Range Rover.
Bosses at Camelot, who run the EuroMillions lottery, say they appointed an independent financial and legal panel to help Jane manage her winnings as well as putting her in touch with another winner who scooped a jackpot at the same age.
A Camelot spokesman said: “We have been in touch with Jane from time to time since her win to offer ongoing support.
“It is always up to the winners as to whether they want to take up that support.”
