They say the white wall of caravans blocks the ocean view day and night in summer - despite a campsite nearby only costing £12.

Morecambe has been made famous by Fury's Netflix hit - and locals love the attention.

They say tourists started flocking to the coastal spot after At Home With The Furys became a knockout success.

Much of the show is filmed there, at the Furys' £550,000 five-bed home.

But, locals are now getting sick of the tourists - who they say arrive stocked full of food and drink and don't spend cash with local businesses.

They also claim the visitors pour their toilet waste down drains rather than take it to a specialist waste disposal site.

Resident Michael Dickson Glen said he is paying top dollar for the view, but the motor homes are blocking it.

He said he's seen people pouring their waste down the drains three or four times.

Michael explained: "I've asked them why don't they go to camp-sites? I never get a proper answer.

"They say their vehicles are taxed and insured. Or they tell me to f*** off.

"These are people in the 50s-age group who should know better."

Michael added: "I go out for a walk most mornings about 6.30am along the prom.

"The other day I passed a man and heard the unmistakable sound of him urinating.

"I asked what he was doing? He said what has it got to do with me? I said I live across the road. He gave me a load of verbal abuse."

Suzanne Smith said abuse from campers was affecting residents' mental health.

I love it. I would never leave Morecambe. It's true beauty.

She said: “I have seen some effluent straight down onto the beach. Unfortunately it was not an isolated incident.

"But by the time the environmental department staff arrive, the vehicles have typically left.”

Margaret Pattison, a Labour city and county councillor, said the parking situation on the promenade was unclear.

She said: "Obviously we want visitors coming to Morecambe but residents want some controls put on the promenade parking and to deal with overnight problems.

"We need proper places for camper-vans and motor-homes to go - perhaps a new car park?

Seaside town famous thanks to Fury

By Andrew Chamberlain

RESIDENTS in a seaside town made famous by Tyson Fury's Netflix hit say they love the attention - but there's a side viewers don't see.

At Home With The Furys has proved a knockout success in the world heavyweight’s hometown.

Tyson Fury has made seaside resort Morecambe home for him and his family, and the runaway success of the show has significantly raised the profile of the town.

David Waddington, 44, owner of Miogelato, said: "I thought the show was fantastic for the town.

"Tyson and his family do a lot to publicise the town and do their best to be a part of the community. The show has really captured the beauty of Morecambe, and that has been great for Morecambe.

"It is a really entertaining show and is trending number one on Netflix, which is a great postcard for Morecambe."

Julie O’Hara, who runs the Bay Café, added: "Tyson often comes in here to eat fish and chips with his family.

"His kids prefer sausage and chips, Paris orders haggis and Tyson just had a drink last time he came in because he is in training.

"When he comes in here, he his just a like any normal father – out with his kids and is just an everyday guy.

"We get a lot of visitors coming in and asking about Tyson. They ask if we know him, does he come in a lot and have we seen him.

“I think they just want a glimpse of Tyson.”

Julie added: “The show has put little old Morecambe on the map.

“I think Tyson likes living here because he’s just treated like a local and doesn’t get hassled.

“He also likes to support local businesses in the town.”

Tattooist Keiran Thompson, 32, said: “I have watched the show and it is a good watch.

“It gives a good insight into his family life and is funny.

“I have seen him around the town quite a lot. Just going about doing normal, everyday jobs.

“You wouldn’t know he was the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world by the way he behaves.

“He’s often seen just walking down the promenade.”

Morgan Francom, 24, said: “He is entertaining and has certainly put all the eyes of the world on to Morecambe.

“I think when he’s in town, he just wants to be treated like anyone else.

“I’ve seen him in the Arndale, and the Co-op, just going about his business. Nobody seems to bother him.”

Morgan, a barber, added: “I’m not a massive fan and haven’t watched the show. My partner has watched it and she loves it. She keeps trying to persuade me to watch it with her but it’s set in Morecambe, where I live. Why would I want to watch it?

“Tyson Fury living in Morecambe has been really good for local boxing clubs in the town.”

Victoria Hall, 28, who runs Boudicca piercing and beauty, said: “I see him around town a lot.

“He goes into the Post Office and is going about his normal, general life.

“I’ve watched the show and I really did enjoy it. I wasn’t a fan of Tyson before I watched the show but now I’ve seen the documentary I’ve changed my view on him.

“You get to see more of the real Tyson and his family life, and it makes him more personable. The documentary shows that he is just like everyone else was he is at home with his wife and family.

“He has done a lot for the town and maybe should get a statue like Eric Morecambe!"

"I came home late recently and saw a bus on the prom at 3am with the lights on and steam coming out the windows.

"People are sleeping overnight in vehicles and cooking with gas stoves. It could be really dangerous.

"Morecambe is getting quite a lot of publicity these days. It appears on TV. Tyson Fury runs along the prom. John McGuinness [the motorcyclist] highlights the town.

"But we need to get promenade and camper-van arrangements right."

Morecambe Town Council has been approached for comment.

Fury is said to own two homes in the seaside spot.

People say to me, 'Why don't you live in California or America?' - why would I?

Prior to moving into a £1.7million mansion in 2021, Fury and his massive family - which includes seven kids - lived in a modest house.

The Fury clan, according to Zoopla, lived in a five-bed and four-bathroom house worth just over £550,000.

The house was far from what you expect a multi-millionaire to be residing in - with nothing overtly flashy on the exterior or interior.

Despite his millions in the bank and a seemingly ever-growing family, Fury and his wife Paris were all too happy to call their old house home.

Speaking on a three-part ITV documentary in 2020, "People say to me, 'Why don't you live in California or America?' - why would I?

";Why would I abandon my own country for a bit of money and some fame?

Inside Tyson Fury’s property empire

By Tony Robertson

TYSON FURY has worked his way to the top of the boxing world.

The Gypsy King has fame, glory and heavyweight championship belts to his name thanks to his exploits in the ring.

With those accolades has also come a vast sum of wealth.

He is estimated to have a net worth of around £50million.

However, following his fight against Dillian Whyte in April 2023, some estimates put that figure as high as £130m.

Fury has put this wealth to good use, investing in a number of luxury assets.

Cars are one of the main items Fury's money has gone towards, with his garage featuring a pair of Rolls Royce, a Porsche Taycan and a Ferrari to name but a few.

But chief among his assets are his houses.

Fury is said to own a number of properties, including the £1.7m pad featured in his Netflix documentary At Home With The Furys and a Las Vegas home where he is said to have let his coach stay cost free.

Below we will take a look at some of the stunning properties.
