‘F*** OFF PIERS’

Piers Morgan slammed on TV show for defending Donald Trump by saying ‘there is no Muslim ban’

PIERS Morgan was told to “f*** off” while appearing on a television show in which he defended US President Donald Trump by saying there was “no Muslim ban”.

The Good Morning Britain presenter was on the panel of the US current affairs show Real Time with Bill Maher when he was sworn at by Australian comedian Jim Jefferies.

Addressing the issue of the ‘Muslim ban’ on the show, which was broadcast last night, Morgan said: “Calm down Bill, there is no Muslim ban.”

He was then loudly interrupted by the other panellists with Jefferies telling him: “Oh f*** off. F*** off. It’s a f***ing Muslim ban,[Trump] said there was a Muslim ban.”

Morgan responded by saying: “This is the kind of hysteria I’m talking about, 85% of the world’s Muslims are [still] allowed into the country.”

The US President’s ban on people from seven majority-Muslim countries entering the USA was left in tatters this week after his government was defeated in the courts.

The decision by the Ninth Circuit Court in San Francisco on Thursday upheld a ruling made in Washington state a week earlier that declared some elements of Trump’s executive order unconstitutional and effectively suspended the ban.

The ban remains suspended and, while Trump isn’t expected to appeal the decision and take it to the Supreme Court, he has said he could issue a new executive order at the beginning of next week.

Trump's executive order that initially brought the ban into place was signed on 27 January and suspended entry to the USA by citizens from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

The restriction was planned to be enforced for 90 days with the US' refugee programme suspended for 120 days and Syrian refugees banned from applying to the scheme indefinitely.

While Trump has been reluctant to call it a 'Muslim ban' in public it was a policy he talked about often during the campaign and .

Speaking on Fox News, Rudy Giuliani, the former Mayor of New York, said: "I'll tell you the whole history of it. So when [Trump] first announced it, he said, 'Muslim ban.' He called me up. He said, 'Put a commission together. Show me the right way to do it legally.'"
