Couple deny murder after their baby daughter was found dead in her pram on London bus

Tragic Imani Wiltshire, who was just three months old, was found lifeless by horrified passengers

A COUPLE whose baby daughter was found dead in her pram on a busy London bus have denied murdering the youngster.

Rosalin Baker, 25, and Jeffrey Wiltshire, 52, are accused of killing three-month-old Imani Wiltshire - whose body was found by horrified passengers on the number 25 in Stratford, east London.

Emergency services rushed the baby girl to Newham General Hospital after she was found at roughly 10.20am on September 28 last year.

The tragic tot was pronounced dead on arrival.

Baker was arrested at the hospital while Wiltshire was nabbed later that day at the address they shared in East Ham, east London.

A post-mortem examination on Friday found Imani died from head injuries.

Baker appeared by video link at the Old Bailey to deny murder and causing or allowing the death of a child today.

Wiltshire was present in court to deny the same charges.

Baker and Wiltshire had both appeared side-by-side in the dock at Thames Magistrates' Court on October 1 last year.

The pair spoke only to confirm their names, ages and addresses and were remanded in custody.

Passengers told how they desperately battled to save the girl after seeing her "lifeless" in her pram.

Mostafa Rahman, 27, told the : “I came down from the top deck and as soon as I saw the baby I knew it was dead.

“The bus stopped and I got a jacket from the top of the pram and put it on the ground and two ladies who were also on the bus put the baby on the jacket on the floor and were trying really hard to revive it.

"The ambulance people turned up and then just put the baby in the ambulance and took it away.

“There were also a few other ladies on the bus who were screaming. It was very dramatic and traumatic.”
