Watch shocking moment stag do Brits BRAWL with bar staff on Majorca beach ‘just days before wedding on holiday island’

THIS is the shocking moment British stag do revellers get into a violent scuffle on a Majorcan beach.

Eight of them were arrested at Balneario Illetas beach club, located between Palma and Magaluf, just days before attending a wedding on the holiday island.

Incredible footage of yesterday evening's incident appeared to show security guards grappling with the allegedly drunken holidaymakers on the sand.

Women could be heard screaming "Stop", with an Argentinian onlooker saying: “I just can’t believe it.”

A woman and one of the security guards ended up being knocked to the ground in the scuffle.

The British men involved were later pictured in handcuffs on steps by the beach club before they were taken away.

It is understood the drunk clubbers also fought bar staff and hurled beer into the sea.

A waiter was hit in the head and two off-duty cops were hurt in the fight, which took place in the municipality of Calvia.

A staff member told the Brits off for their chaotic behaviour when they began throwing rubbish and cans of beer into the sea, disturbing customers and sunbathers on the beach.

Officials said the group, who appeared to have "drunk excessively", had an extremely violent response to the warning and went on to attack the restaurant's staff and the police.

Cops have since said they will be taking a tough stance against people who “put the security of the municipality at risk and damage our image.”

A council spokesperson added that "tourists like these" must go somewhere else instead of coming to Calvia, which is also home to the party resort of Magaluf.

Calvia Council confirmed this morning: “A mass fight at the Balneario Illetas restaurant on Wednesday has led to the arrest of eight English men aged around 30.

“The incident occurred around 7.30pm when a group of English tourists were on a stag do having gone to Illetes from Palma, because some of them were staying at a hotel in the area."

Two off-duty Civil Guards, a Guard patrol and six local Calvia Town Hall-employed police were at the scene.

Police sources told the Council they had "rarely witnessed such a violent reaction", adding the Brits not only confronted the officers but tried to flee upon arrest.

“The eight people arrested have been held in police cells overnight," Calvia Council said.

“Seven restaurant customers and sunbathers have already pressed charges against the violent tourists.”

The town's deputy mayor Esperanza Catala visited the beachside restaurant this morning and vowed: "We are going to be inflexible with this sort of people that we don’t want in Calvia and we are not going to let them get away with anything.

“We are not going to allow anyone to come here that puts the security of our municipality at risk and damages our image.

“They need to take note and go somewhere else if they don’t know how to behave.”

Council chiefs said today the group of Brits included some women but they weren't arrested as only the men were allegedly responsible for the violence.

Well-placed sources said the stag do revellers were set to attend a wedding in Majorca this weekend. Officials have not yet confirmed this.

It was not immediately clear today whether the wedding would still take place, as the men arrested are likely to be hauled to court tomorrow and they could be remanded in custody by a judge pending an ongoing investigation.

It is also not yet clear if the bridegroom and best man are among those who were held.

One well-placed insider said part of the group was staying at a “very expensive” hotel in Palma.

Balneario Illetas at Illetas beach just over five miles from Palma is a fashionable beach club and sea restaurant which opens from 9.30am to 11.30pm every day.

It has a restaurant and cocktail bar and a wellness area as well as hammocks for visitors to chill out on.

One recent British visitor wrote on Tripadvisor: “We absolutely love this place! It makes your day at the beach even better! Perfect for food, ice creams and a coffee or sangria! Lovely staff, and a beautiful setting! Gracias!”

No-one from the venue was available for comment this morning.

The British suspects’ court appearance, which will be held behind closed doors as is normal in Spain, is likely to be delayed until tomorrow so police can quiz them first.

The Civil Guard, who will try to question the men ahead of their court appearances, have not yet made any official comment.

It comes after protesters said they are preparing to take over Majorca’s beaches in a new stand over mass tourism to "squeeze" out foreign tourists.

Saturday’s march in Palma involved around 15,000 people - and the organisers promised: "This is just the start of things."

"Tourist Go Home" graffiti also reappeared in Majorca this week following the weekend protest - which led to organisers apologising for the abuse foreign holidaymakers received.

The words "Go Home Tourist" were scrawled last month over a wall underneath a real estate promotion billboard in Nou Llevant near the island capital Palma.

Island newspaper Diario de Mallorca described it at the time as the first example of tourism-phobia in the neighbourhood.

It said it was targeted at "new foreign residents" following the purchase of recently-built properties by Germans.

Yesterday it emerged more graffiti had been scrawled on access signs to the Tramontana mountains.

Local press said the same messages had been left on entrance signs to villages like Valldemossa or Deia - which are swamped by visitors from late spring onwards.

Foreign visitors were booed and jeered by some locals among the thousands who joined in Saturday’s demo as they ate evening meals on terraces in the island capital Palma’s Weyler Square.

Marchers were heard chanting "tourists go home" as they passed through the central square on the 20-minute route from the park where the protest began to iconic street Paseo del Borne.
