RAGING DE NIRO

Raging Robert De Niro launches scathing attack on Donald Trump outside courthouse in New York City

Trump's advisers have hit back at the star

MOVIE mobster Robert De Niro yesterday launched a tirade against “tyrant” Donald Trump — outside the court where a criminal case against the politician was drawing to a close.

The Raging Bull and Goodfellas star likened the ex-US president to a gang boss as he urged voters to reject Trump in November’s election.

De Niro, who has feuded with Trump for years, stood with advisers to President Joe Biden and said: “I love this city. I don’t want to destroy it.

“Donald Trump wants to destroy this city. And not only this city, but this country. And then eventually he could destroy the world.”

The actor, 80, who was heckled by a Trump supporter, claimed Trump, 77, would “use violence against anyone who stands in the way of his megalomania and greed” — adding: “If he gets in, he will never leave. This is a reality.”

In court in New York, lawyers for presumptive Republican nominee Trump — who denies 34 counts of falsifying business records — made a final pitch to the jury.

Todd Blanche said the district attorney had not proved a case against Trump, who faces charges relating to a £102,000 hush-money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels days before the 2016 election.

Blanche also called the prosecution’s star witness Michael Cohen — Trump’s personal lawyer for ten years — the GLOAT, Greatest Liar Of All Time.

At a press conference afterwards, Trump adviser Jason Miller mocked Mr Biden for using “washed-up actor” De Niro as his foil.

He said: “After months of saying politics had nothing to do with this trial, they showed up.”
