Man, 26, charged with murder of woman, 96, after body found in house fire

A MAN has been charged with murder after a 96-year-old woman died in a house fire.

Joshua Powell, 26, is accused of murdering Emma Finch after her body was found by firefighters last week.

Emergency services were called at 4.29am on Friday May 17 to a report of a fire at a property in Mill Road in Liss, Hampshire.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene on the quiet lane and discovered Ms Finch's body.

Powell, from nearby Lindford, remains in police custody.

He will appear at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court, Hants, today.
