Bus full of schoolchildren smashed by tractor in horror crash as cops hunt dashcam footage
A BUS filled with schoolchildren has been in a horror crash after a tractor bucket smashed through the top floor window.
Dozens were rushed to hospital with serious injuries as terrified family members raced to the scene in Meopham this afternoon.
The ambulance service said 12 patients - including children - were rushed to hospital following the 3.25pm horror on the A227.
One patient was airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London and four other casualties were discharged at the scene.
South East Coast Ambulance assessed "a number of casualties" following what police described as a "serious road traffic accident".
Pictures from the scene show around a dozen emergency service vehicles lining South Street near Culverstone Green.

A taped off police cordon surrounded the tractor, with its scoop still raised, and the smashed bus.
South East Coast Ambulance Service tweeted: "Following a serious collision between a bus and tractor near Meopham at approx 3.30pm today (22/05). We treated and conveyed 12 patients to local hospitals.
"One patient was airlifted to Kings College Hospital and four other casualties were discharged at the scene."
A Kent Police Spokesperson said: "The incident is being investigated by Kent Police’s Serious Collision Unit (SCIU) and officers are appealing to any witnesses to contact them.
"This includes those who may have footage on their phones and motorists with potential evidence on dashcams."
