SEAN "Diddy" Combs has broken his silence and apologized days after a shocking video was released showing him physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie in 2016.

Combs apologized for his actions that were featured in the video in a post shared to on Sunday.

He started out the video saying it is "so difficult" to reflect on the "darkest times of your life."

"I was f***ked up," Combs said.

"I mean I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable."

He continued, ";I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.

"I'm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it and I'm disgusted now.

Combs went on to reveal that he sought help following the 2016 incident.

"I went and I sought out professional help and had to go to therapy, had to go to rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace," he said.

The rapper apologized for the actions featured in the gut-wrenching video saying, "I'm so sorry.

"I'm committed to being a better man each and every day."

He ended the one-minute apology by saying he was not asking for forgiveness.

"I'm truly sorry," Combs said.

SHOCKING FOOTAGE

The apology comes just days after disturbing surveillance footage was released, showing Combs assaulting singer and then-girlfriend Cassie, born Casandra Ventura.

In the shocking clips first obtained by , Combs is seen holding a towel around his waist as he chases after Cassie in the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.

She was seen waiting for an elevator with multiple bags.

Combs can be seen forcefully striking Cassie, throwing her on the floor, and kicking her as she lies motionless.

He then grabs her bags and continues to assault Cassie before dragging her across the elevator bank into the hallway.

A second camera angle of the assault shows Cassie slowly standing up and gathering her belongings after the attack ends.

Combs can then be seen sitting on a chair directly in front of her as she picked up a phone in the hallway.

Soon after, Combs is seen grabbing what appears to be a vase and throwing it at the singer.

SETTLED IN COURT

The shocking actions depicted in the video appear to match allegations Cassie made in a lawsuit filed against the rapper in in November 2023.

In the suit, she alleged that in March 26, an "extremely intoxicated" Combs "punched her in the face, giving her a black eye."

"Ms. Ventura tried to leave the hotel room, but as she exited, Mr. Combs awoke and began screaming at Ms. Ventura," the court filing reads.

Recent lawsuits against Diddy

Diddy was hit with a wave of lawsuits in late 2023 and early 2024 with allegations of sex trafficking and sexual assault. He has denied all claims against him.

  • Cassie, Diddy's longtime girlfriend, sued him in November 2023, claiming she endured “a cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking” until their relationship ended in 2018. Diddy and Cassie settled the suit the day after it was filed.
  • Diddy was hit with two more lawsuits a week later. Joi Dickerson accused Diddy of drugging and raping her and filming the attack when she was a 19-year-old college student in January 1991.
  • A second accuser in a separate lawsuit claimed that Diddy and another man sexually assaulted her and a friend in 1990 or 1991 then showed up at her apartment and beat her several days later.
  • Diddy was sued again in December by a woman who claimed he and two men gang-raped her in 2003 when she was 17 years old.
  • In February 2024, Rodney 'Lil Rod' Jones, who helped produce Diddy's most recent album, claimed that the mogul sexually harassed, drugged, and threatened him from September 2022 to November 2023 as they worked together.

"He followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her. He grabbed at her and then took glass vases in the hallways and threw them at her, causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape."

The lawsuit claimed that In the lawsuit, Combs paid the InterContinental Hotel $50,000 for the footage of the attack.

One day after the suit was filed, both parties involved settled.

While Cassie declined to comment to CNN on the newly released video, her lawyer told the outlet that it was "gut-wrenching."

"The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs," attorney Douglas H. Wigdor, Cassie's said.
