Paedophile footballer Adam Johnson’s loyal ex-girlfriend Stacey Flounders quits Twitter after public backlash over his appeal
SHAMED Adam Johnson's loyal ex has quit Twitter after being slammed for backing his appeal against his child sex conviction.
Stacey Flounders and Johnson's sister Faye told Instagram and Twitter users a date for the disgraced footballer's appeal had been set for later this month.
But the 27-year-old - mum to Johnson's daughter Ayla - received a barrage of abuse from social media users slamming the ex-Sunderland player.
Stacey, who stood by Johnson after he was caged for six years in March for sexual activity with a 15-year-old fan, has since removed her Twitter account.
Shell said: “He admitted what he done.... only justice now would be let the poor lass get on without dragging this out again!”
Rob said: “Sunderland paid them enough whilst he was lying through his teeth.”
JB said: “Justice? Maybe a longer sentence. Given he admitted guilt, this is horrific.”
While Samantha said: “Log off and delete your profile. do decent woman a favour!!
Others compared Johnson to evil paedophile Jimmy Savile.
