Driver stunned after parking next to car with identical make, colour and NUMBER PLATE
Customers were baffled as it emerged one of the cars was stolen and had fake plates
A BAFFLED driver thought she was seeing double when she pulled up next to the same colour and model of car – and an identical number plate – at a garden centre.
The woman decided to call police over the mind-boggling scene at Melbicks Garden Centre, Coleshill, Warks. after spotting the identical white Ford Kuga just a few feet from her vehicle.
And officers quickly realised that the other Kuga was an imposter – and had actually been stolen from Birmingham last year.
Its true identity had been masked by the fake plate which when checked came back to the genuine Ford Kuga of the same colour.
The vehicle contained a number of items connected with burglaries across the West Midlands and inquiries are ongoing into the theft of the vehicle, reports the .
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police confirmed the incident took place and asked people to call 101 if they have any information.
