Nine kids among at least 11 killed in horror Indonesia bus crash after ‘brakes malfunctioned’ as they drove to school
It wasn't just passengers on the bus who were killed
NINE kids are among 11 dead following a horrific bus crash caused by an apparent brake failure.
The group - consisting mainly of students - were on the way to a graduation trip when the vehicle slammed into oncoming traffic.

Dozens more have been injured according to officials in West Java and it's thought 60 passengers were onboard.
The bus was carrying the group from the Java island town of Depok to Lembang before the deadly pile up on Saturday.
The students had just celebrated their graduation and were on a school trip when the bus suddenly lost control and violently swerved left, crashing into a car and three motorbikes.
West Java province police spokesman Jules Abraham Abast said: "Out of the passengers who died, nine of them were students, and one of them was a teacher.";

The accident killed one motorcyclist, seriously injured 13 people and caused minor injuries to 40 others, he added.
It's suspected the bus' brake malfunctioned before it lost control but Abast said police are still investigating the cause of the accident, the traffic police chief told local media.
Shocking images show the mangled bus completely destroyed by the side of the road as a concerned crowd gathers around the wreckage.
Deadly traffic accidents are common in Indonesia, where vehicles are often old or poorly maintained, and road rules are routinely ignored.

Last month, at least 12 people were killed when a car crashed into a bus and another car on a busy highway in West Java, as people travelled to celebrate Eid-al-Fitr with relatives at the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
And in 2022 a fuel truck ploughed into a group of motorcyclists in Indonesia killing at least 25 people, reports said.

The Pertamina tanker smashed into a dozen motorcycles and other vehicles on a busy intersection near the capital Jakarta on July 18 injuring dozens of people.
Harrowing footage captured the aftermath of the catastrophic collision as emergency services searched for survivors.
At least 25 people are believed to have been killed after the huge truck hurtled into the group.
Their vehicles were seen scattered across the road - and victims of the horror crash were also reportedly crushed under the fuel tanker.
