JEREMY CORBYN’s "Socialist" revolution of the Labour Party is at its lowest point, Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell has claimed.
The self-styled Marxist today conceded that the party’s leadership had “reached the toughest period so far” because of the “bilious” media and arrogant establishment Elite.
But in he said it was time to “go on the attack” with a nationwide mobilisation that will see supporters given the chance to have their say in drawing up policies on the economy.
The blast comes with Labour in complete chaos over the Brexit Bill.
A dozen frontbench MPs openly defied Mr Corbyn and voted against Article 50 in the Commons on Wednesday night. But all of the junior ministers or whips have escaped the sack.
And sources claim Labour is preparing to abstain en masse during next week’s third reading of the bill.
Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott ducked the vote – complaining of a migraine.

Mr McDonnell said: “Anybody who thought electing a socialist leader of the Labour Party would be an easy ride now knows that was never going to be the case.
He went on: "Winning the internal party election for the leadership was the relatively easy part.
"The coup was also totally predictable and could be planned for."
"Therefore the second leadership election was arduous, but with determination and hard work was eminently winnable."
And he said: "We have now reached the toughest period so far.”
"This is the toughest of times we have experienced so far and it is not only also absolutely predictable and understandable but also something we can completely deal with."
