Boating the ability to run on green hydrogen, it's a vessel like no other.

Project 821, as it is known, can cruise between harbours or power its entire hotel load for up to a week without noise or carbon emissions.

Designed by RWD, with owner’s representation by Edmiston, the vessel has “forever changed” the yachting world.

That's according to Dutch shipbuilder Feadship, who launched the vessel at their Amsterdam shipyard last weekend.

Company director and CEO of Royal Van Lent Shipyard, Jan-Bart Verkuyl, said the large size of the proposed yacht made it a good candidate to explore pure green hydrogen as the fuel-cell source.

"For those captivated by cutting-edge innovations, this yacht presents an opportunity for potential acquisition as it showcases the pinnacle of modern technological advancements," Verkuyl told .

Project 821 also features the most efficient waste heat recovery system yet developed.

"The aim has been to develop a new, clean technology not just for this project, but for the world," said Verkuyl.

The superyacht has been linked with Microsoft founder Gates but Feadship are not confirming the billionaire's relationship with the yacht or why it is now up for sale.

Rumours, however, suggest it is being offered for around €600m (£515m).

A Feadship spokesperson said: “Feadship does not share any information about owners and prices, whether it is a 19-metre yacht from the 1960s or a 119-metre yacht from the 21st century.”

There is, of course, a lot more to the vessel than just it's hydrogen power.

Boasting five decks above the waterline, two below, and additional mast yet to be attached, Project 821 is also teeming with luxury.

The full owners' deck above the bridge is essentially an apartment, with two bedrooms, twin bathrooms and dressing rooms to enjoy.

There is also a gym, a pantry, two offices each with a fireplace, and a living room to add to the list of amenities.

In fact, you'll even find the owner accommodation extends beyond a single deck.
