A YAZIDI woman who was kept as an ISIS sex slave has opened up about her harrowing story in which she revealed she was raped by 12 men and forced to change her religion.

Nadia Murad was 22 when she was taken into captivity with 6,500 other women when terrorists invaded her village in northern Iraq in 2014.

Her mum and six brothers were killed.

Nadia was enslaved, repeatedly raped, instructed what to wear and made to change her religion.

She eventually escaped and fled to Germany where she has since become a United Nations goodwill ambassador.

Nadia was also presented with a prestigious human rights prize in October.

Speaking to , Nadia said her and the other women did not feel "valued as humans"

She added: "They did what they want to the women and my fate was the same. I was one of the victims and they did everything to us."

Nadia was held captive for two months by a man who had a wife and family

She described him as a "very, very bad man" and was subjected to "many bad things".

She believes she was violated by more than a dozen men and escaped with the help of charity workers in the Middle East.

Since her release, Nadia's story has gone on to inspire many which has led to her work with the United Nations.

She also met the former President Barack Obama.

Human rights lawyer, Amal Clooney, said he was moved to tears when she heard Nadia's story.

Speaking in September, the 38-year-old said Nadia's story had driven her to take ISIS and bring them to trial.

Clooney said: “I can’t imagine anything worse being done by one human to another.

“I did feel a sense of outrage, it’s been harrowing to hear the testimony of girls as young as 11 and 12 talk about what’s happened to them and still we haven’t been able to do anything about it.”
