Shocked onlookers said the car left the road and flipped on to its roof.

Fellow motorists pulled over the help and spoke to Tom until police and ambulance crews arrived.

One man, who did not want to be named, said: “The road was extremely wet so I don’t know if that had anything to do with it."

The eyewitness added: “Tom was upside down in the car.

“He was very lucky. It was a brand new Ferrari.

“He had a large cut on his head but he refused hospital treatment.”

The smash happened in Snydale Road at around lunchtime on Monday.

Tom is understood to have been in the car with one other person who was not injured.

No other vehicles were involved in the costly smash and it is believed Tom was driving.

Zanetti hit the charts last year with his singles Darlin’ and You Want Me.

He is pals with Geordie Shore’s Scotty T who promised to get naked with the Leeds DJ if his single You Want Me got to Christmas number one.

His video for the single features Ex on the Beach star Ashley Cain and former Big Brother contestant Chloe Khan.
