BARACK and Michelle Obama are a picture of relaxation as they stroll through Moskito Island — the private paradise owned by Virgin boss Richard Branson.
The couple were snapped after arriving on the British Virgin island, near the famous Necker resort, on billionaire Branson's private jet as they enjoy their second week since leaving the White House.
They travelled last week from Palm Springs in California, where they had spent the first part of their holiday as a guest of the Spanish ambassador while Donald Trump took office.
Former President Barack, wearing dark shades and a flipped-back baseball cap, scuttles along in sandals and waves to the camera.
And ex-First Lady Michelle, wearing a blue top with a white throwover and a fedora hat, beams as they walk through the picturesque island.
A passer-by wishing them a happy holiday was greeted with a cheerful "thank you" from the former commander-in-chief.
But while they have been seen enjoying the kickbacks of a break from Washington DC, Barack Obama has lived up to his word after vowing to be vocal if he saw "core issues" under threat from the Trump presidency.
On Monday the Democrat issued a statement slamming the new President's so-called 'Muslim travel ban', which prohibits entry to the US of travellers and refugees from seven Muslim-majority countries.
He also gave support to protesters taking to the streets and disrupting airports across the US and beyond.
"President Obama is heartened by the level of engagement taking place in communities around the country," his office said in a statement.
"Citizens exercising their Constitutional right to assemble, organise and have their voices heard by their elected officials is exactly what we expect to see when American values are at stake", it said.
But there were no further interventions on Tuesday when the Obamas were seen lunching with flop-haired host Branson and his daughter Holly, 35.
Meanwhile, the Obama's entourage of around one hundred Secret Service officers, aides and assistants were also put up on the luxury island, according to .
The former first couple are expected to head back to Washington DC soon.
