Adam Johnson’s sister reveals paedo footballer has date for second appeal against child sex conviction and sentence
He was caged in March 2016 for grooming a 15-year-old girl
PAEDO footballer Adam Johnson has launched a second appeal bid against his child sex conviction.
Johnson was jailed for six years last year for engaging in sexual activity with a besotted 15-year-old fan.
His case will be heard at the Court of Appeal on February 28, where he will apply for permission from the full court to appeal against his conviction.
His sister Faye Johnson confirmed that the ex-footie star now has an appeal date against conviction and sentence on social media on Monday.
She said: "I hope that justice can finally be done for my brother."
Johnson has long been supported by his sister Faye, who has fiercely fought for his freedom.
She runs an appeal page for her brother, as well as often sharing memories of his successful football career.
The 28-year-old, who had his first appeal overturned after being sentenced in May last year, was found guilty of one count of sexual activity with a 15-year-old fan and previously admitted another count.
After launching his second appeal, The Court of Appeal said in November: “The papers are going to a summary writer on the case before a date can be given for the hearing to take place.”
