A TEENAGE blogger who bravely opened up about her battle with bowel cancer has died.
Hannah Lyson from Lancashire was diagnosed with bowel cancer in May last year aged just 19.
Two weeks ago she revealed doctors had decided to stop her chemotherapy, telling her followers she was "losing the fight".
Today her family posted this heartbreaking message on the teen's Facebook page, .
It said: "It is with great sadness I am writing this message.
"Our brave beautiful Hannah lost her fight with cancer yesterday. She passed away peacefully at home with her family.
"Hannah fought so hard to get well but it wasn't to be.
Our brave beautiful Hannah lost her fight with cancer yesterday.
"We are all so proud of her and we will continue her work to raise awareness that you're never too young. "Thank you to everyone who has followed Hannah's journey and supported her in her fight."
Hannah's blog has been visited more than 80,000 times since she began talking about her diagnosis with the disease.
Doctors initially thought Hannah, now 20, had irritable bowel syndrome, delaying her diagnosis.
She hoped to use her blog and Facebook page to raise awareness of bowel cancer - particularly in young people.
In a message on her Facebook page on January 14, Hannah wrote: "I'm not writing a blog post as I don't have the effort or ability right now but sadly today we've been given the worst news imaginable.

"Sadly, the doctors have decided there's no more chemo for me and the liver is winning this fight and I am losing."
On Thursday, Hannah was awarded the Hero of Heroes Award just days after revealing doctors were unable to continue her treatment.
In her absence, inspirational Hannah received a standing ovation for her bravery as she was announced the winner.
She had been discharged from hospital two days before Christmas, so she could celebrate her 20th birthday at home with her family.
Weeks later she told her followers her and her family were "distraught" when they were given "the worst news imaginable".
In August 2016 she wrote: "I’ve been trying my best with the amount of energy and time I have to raise awareness around bowel cancer in younger people, to make people aware that even though it’s unlikely, it’s not impossible and if the symptoms continue after being brushed off and diagnosed with IBS, it’s important to push for a test or scan at the doctors so it doesn’t progress further."
I can't understand why people would donate, let alone fundraise for me just because of what I'm going through but I'm insanely grateful.

"Thank you so so much, you all really are my dream team!"
Hannah told her followers she had been diagnosed with five tumours, four in her liver and one in her bowel.
During her treatment she had part of her bowel removed and a colostomy bag fitted.
While sharing her experiences through her blog she wrote of her "unwavering determination" to beat the disease.
In recent weeks Hannah told followers she was unable to write blog posts as she had been too unwell.
