British Reverend and Quaker activist arrested ‘trying to disarm warplanes bound for Saudi Arabia’

A VICAR and a Quaker activist have been arrested after allegedly trying to disarm warplanes bound for Saudi Arabia.
Reverend Dan Woodhouse and Sam Walton were both arrested after allegedly trying to stop the aircrafts.
The Methodist minister in Leeds is accused of entering the BAE Systems site in Warton to disarm planes along with the Quaker.
The two men said their actions were aimed at preventing a delivery of fighter jets to the Saudi government, which they said was due to take place in the next few weeks.
Rev Woodhouse said stopping planes "would save lives" in a statement.

He said: "Stopping or even delaying Saudi Arabia having more planes with which to bomb Yemen would save innocent lives and prevent war crimes."
Mr Walton added: "We did not take these steps lightly but we have no other option."
Police are holding both men on suspicion of criminal damage.
BAE Systems said the matter was being investigated by Lancashire Police and it was assisting officers with their inquiries.
Lancashire police confirmed two people had been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage following an incident at the site and officers were investigating.
