Major hunt for man who ‘attacked woman and tried to pull her into bushes’

A MAJOR hunt is underway for a man who attacked a woman and tried to pull her into bushes on the side of a road.

The woman was attacked as she walked along French Horn lane in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

She managed to escape after two men, believed to be of Chinese origin, walked past - prompting the man to let her go.

The man was described as in his 20s to 30s, white, with tanned skin, short dark hair and stubble on his face.

He spoke with a foreign accent and was reported to be wearing a black hooded top and black jogging bottoms during the attack at 12.35am on Saturday.

Senior investigating officer detective sergeant Andy Smith, from Hatfield's Local Crime Unit, said: "We are doing everything we can to find the person responsible for this crime and are following a number of lines of enquiry.

"I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the stated time and saw the incident happen, or if you think you could be the two people who walked passed at the time the incident took place, to please get in contact as soon as possible.

"Or perhaps you are aware of a man fitting the description who is often in the stated location. Any information you provide could prove to be vital to our investigations."
