Why was gender nonsense indulged?
CONFUSED teenagers should never have been driven into the clutches of Left-wing ideologues obsessed with the trans agenda.
But it beggars belief that a key NHS doctor wanted kids who were barely out of nappies to be quizzed about their gender identities and even put on a path to changing sex.
Speaking in 2016, Dr Polly Carmichael arrogantly dismissed “shock horror” headlines that asked whether four-year-olds should be encouraged to question their gender, instead declaring it was a positive “step forward”.
She was for years the well-paid director of the now discredited Gender Identity Development Service hosted at the notorious Tavistock clinic.
Thankfully it has now been closed following an independent review by Dr Hilary Cass.
Dr Carmichael’s blinkered views go to the heart of everything that has been so wrong with the toxic trans lobby.

This culture must be reversed following last week’s common-sense report, which outlined the harm that has been done, especially by clinics playing God with thousands of traumatised children.
The Department for Education are drafting welcome new advice stating four-year-olds should no longer be quizzed over gender. But why stop there?
Labour has been guilty of fostering the trans movement by shutting down much critical debate, and it has shown no sign of grappling with the severity of the issue.
The Tories should get tough and protect children with the full force of the law.
