Incredible images of mysterious UFO-shaped cloud baffles residents of Swedish ski town
THE unusual circular cloud floated over ski resorts Åre and Duved
A MYSTERIOUS pink cloud which looks like a UFO and even appears to be spinning round baffled skiiers when it appeared in the skies over Sweden.
The unusual circular cloud floated over ski resorts Åre and Duved, with skiiers taking to Instagram to share pictures of the odd phenomenon.
Locals said the strange shapes - called lentincular clouds - are often mistaken for UFOs.
They form above mountain peaks when the air is forced to rise as it hits the hillside.
As the air cools, it condenses into a cloud.
"I thought it was pretty cool," one of them, Elvira Kuper, told broadcaster SVT.
The beautiful snaps were taken the same day as a strange cloud phenomenon appeared over the UK.
Rare “Mother of Pearl” coloured clouds - also known as nacreous clouds - were spotted over Langwathby, Cumbria.
And another eerie UFO-shaped cloud appeared over California, looking like a portal in the sky.
