A MURDER suspect’s mum phoned cops after he came home covered in blood with a knife in his pocket, she told his trial yesterday.
Pauline Bell, 58, said she held on to son Graeme, 18, during the call as he begged her to let him go and tried to get her keys.
Mrs Bell told the High Court in Glasgow his clothes were “heavily stained”.
She added: “There was a knife hanging out of Graeme’s trouser pocket. There was blood on it.
“I didn’t know if Graeme was injured or someone else. I just wanted the police to come and sort out what had happened.”

Mrs Bell said her son insisted it was his own blood. She added: “I was holding Graeme with one hand and the knife with the other. He was upset.”
The mum cried as she said: “As the police took him away he said, ‘I love you, mum’.”
Bell denies murdering Patrick Ferguson, 48, in Croftfoot, Glasgow, last February and robbing him of cannabis.
He also denies attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The trial continues.
