Bradford stabbing: Tragic photo shows mum on wedding day before husband Habibur Masum ‘murdered her in front of baby’

A TRAGIC photo shows a mum on her wedding day before her husband allegedly stabbed her to death in front of their baby.

Kulsuma Akter, 27, was knifed multiple times as she pushed a pram in Bradford on Saturday.

Her husband Habibur Masum was arrested after a three-day manhunt and has now been charged with murder.

Masum, who is also charged with possession of a bladed article, appeared at Bradford Magistrates’ Court today where he was remanded into custody.

The first picture of Kulsuma has now been released and shows her on her wedding day.

It is believed the pair had an arranged marriage, with the ceremony understood to have taken place in Oldham, Greater Manchester.

Kulsuma's mum paid tribute to her daughter, telling : "I am still in shock, my heart is broken, she was my youngest daughter and I adored her greatly.

"She looked after me when my eldest daughter was married and she would get my medicine and do everything for me.

"When she moved to the United Kingdom I was alone but Kulsuma would call me every day by video – the only day I didn't hear from her was the day she was attacked."

Masum was held in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, on Tuesday – 180 miles from where Kulsuma died.

Police arrested four other men, aged between 23 and 29, in the same area on suspicion of assisting an offender and drug offences.

They remain in custody, while a 23-year-old man arrested in Cheshire on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail.

The horror unfolded on Saturday at around 3.21pm as Kulsuma pushed the pram near a parade of shops in the city centre.

Horrified onlookers rushed in to try to save the mum but she tragically died in hospital shortly after.

It later emerged Primark influencer Masum, who claims to be married on social media, is the dad of her baby.

Kulsuma’s heartbroken family opened up about their devastation in the wake of her tragic death.

The 27-year-old’s brother told : “We are not even able to speak and have been crying all the time since this happened.

“We had to call our mother in Bangladesh to tell her the news. Can you imagine what this was like for us? I can’t believe my sister is dead.”

Kulsuma’s cousin Aftab Miah added that while she had died in a devastating way, the family would always remember her as a happy person.

Paying tribute, he said: “She was a lovely girl and had a great personality. She was always smiling and liked to make people laugh.”

Both Masum and Kulsuma were known to cops, with Greater Manchester Police referring itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) over previous contact with the pair.

West Yorkshire Police has also referred itself to the police watchdog.
