Lord Cameron made case to Republicans to back aid for Ukraine – we must pray they’re listening
Make ’em pay
LORD Cameron has made his case to Donald Trump and the Republican party.
We must pray they were listening.
The future of Ukraine remains on a knife-edge.
President Zelensky is running out of bullets, missiles and equipment.
His lion-hearted military is, in places, barely hanging on.

There may well be resentment in Washington at handing over 60billion tax dollars when Americans face so many problems at home.
But politicians on Capitol Hill must urgently approve the military aide package to stop Russian victory.
Trump and his backers say they want the killing to stop.
But any deal which involves handing Putin huge chunks of Ukraine in exchange for peace would send a dangerous message to the world’s dictators.
Not least China as it eyes up taking Taiwan by force.
America has always stood for freedom against tyranny.

Tax bodgers?
WE wonder if Angela Rayner was listening yesterday as Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves launched a war on tax dodgers?
That Labour should make the announcement while its own deputy stands accused of not paying the taxman what is owed shows astonishing front.
Unless, of course, Reeves and Sir Keir Starmer are hoping to bluff their silent colleague into finally coming clean…
As to her plans, Reeves struggled to answer basic questions about how she would succeed where countless previous governments have failed on tax avoidance.
Or explain how she knows it will raise the £5billion she needs for schemes like costly breakfast clubs for kids.
Every incoming Chancellor pledges to crack down on tax dodgers.
Some independent experts are already sceptical.
We’ll believe it when we see it.
Nick the thugs
OUR shopkeepers have been left living in fear at the mercy of thugs and gangs.
Abandoned by the police, the courts and the Government, for years they have suffered physical violence as well as damage to their businesses.
At last it seems the shoplifting epidemic is to be tackled.
PM Rishi Sunak’s plans — including six months’ jail for thugs who assault staff — will be welcomed on the High Street.
It’s been far too long coming.
