'PLEASE DON'T'

Lily Allen sparks furious backlash for referring to gay people as ‘f**s’ in tweet about Donald Trump

The singer faced condemnation from the LGBT community after declaring on Twitter that 'f**s hate Trump'

SINGER Lily Allen last night sparked fury when she referred to gay people as "f**s" in a tweet protesting against Donald Trump.

She tweeted the message "f**s hate Trump" in response to a Gay Times message calling for readers to listen to her "haunting anti-Trump anthem".

But it backfired when members of the gay community blasted her, suggesting she refer to the gay community as "LGBT" instead.

One wrote: "Please don't refer to us as F***, we are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender if anyone has to be labelled."

Another tweeted: "Isn't it funny how some pop stars, in their attempt to virtue signal, think they can speak on behalf of others?"

A third person said: "Would you call a black man a n***** because others do? No you wouldn't, don't call us. OK?"

And one man wrote: “We hate that word even more you vile creature”.

She later tried to downplay her tweet with a second message saying it was a reference to a sign seen in the background of the original Gay Times message.

Allen has hit the headlines multiple times this week - first after she was spotted heading up protests against the inauguration of Donald Trump.

She performed a protest song for the crowds, which she later posted on her Instagram.

Only days later she became embroiled in a spat with Good Morning Britain co-host Piers Morgan over her role in the demonstrations.

The outspoken, Trump-supporting TV host had tweeted “imagine if there were a load of men-only marches today? The feminists would go crackers” to which the singer replied “f*** off”.

Morgan responded by posting a picture of Lily sitting on his lap under the words: “Here’s a photo of Trump-hating @lilyallen grabbing my crotch” – referencing Trump’s “p**** grabbing” comments.
