THIS is the harrowing moment a masked man tries to drag a mum out of her BMW in front of her young son - before she fights back.
Kerry Chapman was showing her 12-year-old son Aston a video on her phone, oblivious to a group of men surrounding her car.
Within seconds, a man in a balaclava thrust open her door and grabbed the mum by the arm.
Recounting Friday's horror, Kerry told : "I thought it must be a friend, and he is going to say 'boo' or something.
"And then I realised this isn't a joke. He tried to drag me out. He didn't say a word."
Shocking footage shows the thug lurch at Kerry's car as she sits outside her home in Bromley Cross, Bolton.

A tussle erupts as Kerry fights back before the lout takes off down the street.
Undeterred, the mum charges after him before realising there are three other assailants lurking in the shadows.
She said: "When I was running my legs were literally like jelly.
"My main thing was to get them away from my son."

After looking back at of the 10.20pm horror, Kerry reckons her attacker had "a weapon" on them.
She has called on the police to clamp down on the blight of crime ravaging her community.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "On Friday, March 29, officers were called to reports of an attempted carjacking on Clay Street, Bromley Cross.
"It has been established that an unknown man attempted to drag the victim out of her vehicle before making off on foot.
"No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made at this stage. Enquiries are ongoing."
